Flags Over the Memorial

When you think of our country, what do you think of first? What is the pre-eminent emblem of this nation? The thing that stirs pride in your heart… the flag, of course! That star spangled banner which has flown over seats of government, houses of worship, commercial institutions, schools and homes...for almost 250 years. As children we’re taught to revere it, always salute it, never let it hit the ground. As adults, we’ve worn it, hung it at home, and sometimes even properly disposed of it.

There is nothing that kindles the spirit of patriotism quite like the flag. It truly is special to us…especially in this, our 250th year. But what could make the flag even more special? What could make you want to acquire a new flag to show your lodge’s or Masonic Temple’s patriotism this year…and every year? How about a flag flown over the George Washington Masonic National Memorial in Alexandria, Virginia? A flag unfurled on the flagpole at the Memorial…just eight miles from Brother George Washington’s beloved Mount Vernon. A flag that shared space with that quintessential monument to that man, that Mason, that leader who virtually willed a new form of government to come to fruition.

Now your lodge or Masonic Temple can have such a flag! The Memorial has partnered with Allegiance Flag Supply, the well-known patriotic flag supplier of “American sewn, American flown” flags to bring you a high-quality, proudly-made Old Glory. Made of rugged nylon denier material for durability and longevity, these flags fly in virtually every state, probably in a town or community near you. And now you can have your very own!

Available in two sizes: 3 × 5 feet for home or inside the lodge or 4 × 6 feet for the flagpole out front. You’ll be proud to fly a flag which first flew here on Shuter’s Hill at the end of historic King Street in Alexandria near dear Brother George’s house of worship, Christ Church, and his favorite eating place, Gadsby’s Tavern. Our staff will proudly hoist your flag to the top of our flag pole and then, with great respect, lower it down the pole and lovingly fold it the proper way and put it in its special tri-corn box.

In observance of this special anniversary year, either size is available for $250. You’ll be proud to tell your brethren and friends where you got that MADE IN THE USA flag…and how the price you paid helps support this century-old memorial to the man who made our way of life possible and gave birth to that flag. Don’t delay…order yours today.
