Established on Saint John’s Day, December 27, 1813, in Knoxville, the Grand Lodge of Tennessee is comprised of 311 Masonic lodges, and about 30,000 members. Prominent Tennessee Masons include Brothers Andrew Jackson, Andrew Johnson, and James Polk, seventh, eleventh, and seventeenth Presidents of the United States, respectively, singer Roy Acuff, twenty-eight Governors of Tennessee, and many members of the United States Congress.
